During my recent city break at Sportpension Ramlhof in Kollerschlag, I was pleasantly surprised by the charm of this family-run hotel, nestled in the stunning Upper Austria region. The outdoor pool and the large swimming lake with a water slide provided a good escape, ideal for both relaxation and some fun, reminding me of summer days spent back in Cork. Evenings were equally enjoyable, featuring a half-board menu that showcased hearty local dishes and a big salad buffet, perfect to keep us fueled for our hiking adventures. As a landscape photographer, I appreciated the beautifully sized rooms which offered amazing views from the terrace, presenting a picturesque backdrop for my sunrise shoots. With an on-site restaurant and the convenience of room service, every meal was a joy, creating a cozy atmosphere perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the great outdoors. Plus, the attentive staff, who personally accompanied us on various tours, really enhanced our experience, making our stay feel welcoming and personal. Sportpension Ramlhof beautifully melds comfort with opportunity for adventure, making it a perfect base for nature lovers and explorers like myself.
